One of my new favorite poetry excerpts

Our Favorite Excerpts from Whitman Books

I am he that walks with the tender and growing night,
I call to the earth and sea half-held by the night.

Press close bare-bosom’d night – press close magnetic nourishing night!
Night of south winds – night of the large few stars!
Still nodding night – mad naked summer night.

Smile O voluptuous cool-breath’d earth!
Earth of the slumbering and liquid trees!
Earth of departed sunset – earth of mountains misty-topt!
Earth of the vitreous pour of the full moon just tinged with blue!
Earth of shine and dark mottling the tide of the river!
Earth of the limpid gray of clouds brighter and clearer for my sake!
Far-swooping elbow’d earth – rich apple-blossom’d earth!
Smile, for your lover comes.

Thanks for reading this beautiful poetry with me!

The beginning!

I just wanted to take the time to write my first brief post. An extended about me page. I am in a family of six and don’t know what I would do without them. I am a Jehovah’s Witness and am 17 years old. Approaching my last year in High School. Can’t wait to be done and start my medical career. I am hoping to be posting fun stuff that a lot of people will love to read. Posting different pictures, writing about myself, self-written poetry, DIY’s, things I have been up to, and poetry/book-excerpts. That’s all I can think of for now! Bye.
